JEP DELAGE RACE CAR.

Jep manufactured a number of automotive vehicles but the rarest and most elusive were the race cars. Seldom found, this particularly rare example is a Delage and has a brass plaque by the driver’s entry and a small oval plaque on the radiator. Tin wheels with simulated spokes, the vehicle has a complicated clockwork mechanism that also controlled the direction of the vehicle. The original separate plaster race car driver sits within the vehicle. As Jep vehicles go, this is a most elusive and difficult example to find. SIZE: 17″ l. CONDITION: Overall very fine, but a fair amount of paint loss to brown seat. In need of some minor straightening and re-soldering to front pinion assembly. 1-14211 (2,500-3,500) – Lot 3265
