20th century, England. The polychrome painted pine sign, in the form of a tombstone, applied with crossed cannons above cannon balls. Advertising the dock yard establishment of Pollard & Son Harwich. SIZE: 42″ h x 36″ w. PROVENANCE: From a private Massachusetts collection. CONDITION: Vertical shrinkage cracks at the plank seams. Painted surfaces with some losses and abrasion, with wear overall.
