*RESTORED WINCHESTER MODEL 70 CALIBER 300 H&H.SN 255524. Manufactured 1953 with 26″ bbl and traditional checkered pistol grip. Model 70 stock with steel Winchester buttplate and steel Winchester trigger guard and floorplate. CONDITION: Very good overall as refinished. All the refinish remains on bbl, action, buttplate and trigger guard assembly. Bore and mechanics are excellent. Bbl has been refinished at some previous date with evidence of some slight surface distress and very minor pitting over Winchester address. Lettering is slightly washed, however, proof on bbl is sharp. Rear sight has been replaced with folding Lyman sight. Receiver has been properly lightly etched and then refinished to a matte finish very similar to factory. All this finish remains. Bolt handle and cocking assembly both show signs of slight over-polishing, but is well executed and all refinish remains. Buttplate and trigger guard are both finished in the same manner with a slight dull hot blue finish very close to that of Winchester. Rifle stock has had checkering professionally chased and a rather heavy application of finish has been applied and has left a slight orange peel effect on buttstock and forearm forward of trigger guard. Bolt body has been properly polished and looks excellent. 51033-43 TDW (1,200-1,700) C&R – Lot 3247
