PAIR OF CIVIL WAR REMINGTON NEW MODEL PERCUSSION ARMY REVOLVERS.

1) REMINGTON 1858 ARMY. SN 3961. Cal. 44. Pair of mid-war Remington army revolvers in the standard configuration with 8″ bbls. Both guns are honest, seeing use with weak inspector cartouches, but most of the individual metal parts have well discerned sub-inspector initials. SN 73961 is all matching with name “LAYTON” stamped on butt. CONDITION: SN 73961 retains traces of bright blue in protected areas on bottom of bbl, metal overall grey with staining and light pitting. 2) REMINGTON 1858 ARMY. SN 72805. Cal. 44. CONDITION: SN 72805 is numbered 72629 on frame, metal is overall grey with pitting and old cleaning. 3-line bbl address is discernible on both guns. Stocks are sound on both guns, 72805 has chips at both front toes and large dents in bottom of right grip. Mechanically both guns function well. 51138-72, 51138-73 JS (1,200-1,800) – Lot 3235
