SN 93386. (on bottom of action behind recoil lug) Cal. 30-06. 22-1/2″ Lightweight round bbl fitted with stippled quarter rib mounting one standing, three folding leaf express rear sight, has sleeved-on front ramp holding gold bead and fitted with knurled protector held by detent. Bbl is marked “NIEDNER RIFLE CORP, DOWAGIAC, MICH.” A sling loop is soldered to bottom of bbl. Standard length commercial Mauser action with square bridge has had receiver ring and top of bridge stippled. Bolt with damascened body and extractor has long cocking piece, standard flag safety, and orig unaltered pear-shaped knob. Double stage single trigger is retained. Standard bottom metal has hinged floorplate retained by latch in trigger guard bow. Nicely streaked European walnut steel capped pistol grip stock measures 13-7/8″ over Mauser type engraved steel buttplate with trap, and features right hand double beaded cheekpiece, ebony forend tip, and point pattern checkering with mullered borders. Drop at heel: approx 2-13/16″, drop at comb: approx 1-3/4″. Cast: Neutral. Weight: 7 lbs. 12 oz. LOP: 13-7/8″. CONDITION: Excellent, as refinished. All metal parts retain most of a sympathetic re-blue over some light marks and scratches Stock retains most of a fine hand rubbed oil finish, over some light dents and marks.
