1) South American, 1930’s serape with central serrated medallion with geometric in the line field, woven in two pieces with center scene. 2) Mexican 1930’s serape with central serrated design on striped and geometric field, very finely woven. SIZE: 1) 81″ l x 55″ x. 2) 79″ l x 38″ w. PROVENANCE: Owned by William Mayo, who found East Texas Normal College in Cooper, TX in 1889 (now Texas A&M University). These were passed to his daughter, folklorist, Margo Mayo and then to her niece. CONDITION: 1) Minor soiling and bleed, some fringe loss. 2) Very good. 50813-5, 50813-7, (800-1,200) – Lot 3231
