SN 219. Cal. 460 Weatherby. 21″ Heavy round bbl is fitted with one standing leaf adjustable express rear sight in large, nicely shaped island base and short front ramp holding white bead. Ramp is fitted with sight protector. Bbl has been ported with three broad grooves on each side, and a wide sling eye has been soldered on. Top of bbl is engraved “WALTER ABE – RIFLEMAKER – CALIFORNIA, U.S.A.” Caliber is at left rear. Nicely finished Brevex magnum length Mauser action with rounded bridge and solid sidewall has been fitted with Model 70 type safety. Small knob bolt handle is checkered on top of knob. A commercial trigger has been fitted. Belgian proofs and SN are on left side of receiver ring. Drop box bottom metal has hinged floorplate with retaining button in trigger guard bow. Nicely streaked European walnut rosewood capped pistol grip stock measures 13-7/8″ over leather faced Silver type pad, and features swept Monte Carlo shadow line right hand cheekpiece, two steel reinforcing pins through stock, point pattern checkering at grip and forend, rosewood forend tip, and a wide sling eye on toe line. Drop at heel: approx 2-1/4″, drop at rear of Monte Carlo: approx 1-9/16″, drop at comb: approx 1-3/4″. Cast: approx 1/4″ off. Weight: 10 lbs. 0 oz. LOP: 13-7/8″. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining essentially all of its fine custom finishes on wood and metal with a considerable number of light handling marks in wood. Checkering somewhat darkened.
