NINETEENTH CENTURY LAKE MOXIE, MAINE, PENOBSCOT LAUNDRY STICK, WOODLANDS SHAMAN EFFIGY STAFF WITH TWO PENOBSCOT CANOE PADDLES.

1) Penobscot laundry stick, finely chipped carved with incised name “Lake Moxie, ME”, initials “MR JW” on reverse. 2) Woodlands bird effigy staff, probably Seneca, finely carved birds head with old alligatored finish. 3) Penobscot paddle with old patina, finely carved stepped handle. 4) Penobscot paddle with exceptional carved, stepped, chamfered handle. SIZE: 1) 35″ l x 2-3/4″ w. 2) 37″ l. 3) 68-1/4″ l x 7″ w. 4) 70″ l x 7″ w. CONDITION: 1) Great untouched patina, showing good in-use wear, 1″ chip in end of handle. 2)Showing great patina and good in-use wear, otherwise very good. 3) Good patina, showing good in-use wear, paddle portion has 5″ crack with old staple repair. 4) With excellent patina and showing good in-use wear. 52308-33 (700-900) – Lot 3221
