SN 550962. Cal. 9.3 x 74R. 23-5/8″ Shoe lump bbls are fitted with broad, flat, matted, full length rib holding one standing square notch rear sight, and silver sourdough bead in slightly raised ramp front portion. Bbl flats are stamped with German nitro proofs and a sling loop is screwed to bottom rib. Coin finished scroll backed boxlock action features automatic safety, crossbolt third fastener, side clips, bushed strikers, cocking indicators on sides, and dbl triggers. Action is engraved with sprays of scroll within geometric borders surrounding well cut game scenes on sides; bugling stag on left, and running boar on right. Engravers initials “G.L” (Gerhard Liebscher) are stamped at front of stag scene. Lightly marbled European walnut capped pistol grip hog-backed buttstock measures 14-5/8″ over composition Merkel buttplate, and features right hand cheekpiece, point pattern checkering at grip, and a sling loop matching that on bbl, on toe line. Matching splinter ejector forend has Deeley release. Drop at heel: approx 3-1/4″, drop at comb: approx 1-15/16″, top of hog-back: 2-3/8″. Cast: Neutral. Weight: 8 lbs. 4 oz. LOP: 14-5/8″. Green canvas covered case with tan leather trim is lined in green velvet, and contains a set of 3 rosewood handled turnscrews, and a 3″ x 5″ card stating “Engraved by master engraver Gerhard Liebscher”. CONDITION: Excellent, very close to new, with scant evidence of having been fired except for faint halos on breechface, with only a very few light handling marks in all finishes.
