PORCELAIN BANQUET LAMP WITH ENGLISH CAMEO SHADE.

Large porcelain banquet lamp is decorated on the front of the stem and font with partially clothed ladies with flowing scarves and young nude children at their side. On the panel on the stem it appears that the woman and child are on a cloud while the panel on the font shows the woman and child in a garden all set against a background of rich mauve and green with gilded bellflowers. Lamp is completed with an English cameo (attributed to Webb). Shade has white cameo, vines leaves and berries descending from the shoulder against an amber glass background. Shade is unsigned. Base is signed with blue beehive mark “Germany”. SIZE: Shade: 11-3/4″ dia. Lamp: 32-3/4″ t. CONDITION: Duplex burner has been modified to electricity. Font appears to have been reattached to stem with plaster. Shade has small shell shaped flake on the top rim, otherwise very good. 5-69795 (1,500-2,500) – Lot 3204
