EARLY COLT MODEL 1871-1872 REVOLVER. SN 11, .44 Rimfire cal., 8″ round bbl. Still has “COLT / PATENT” marking on left side of frame. The loading gate is unlike later loading gates on this model, but appears to be original Navy size grip. CONDITION: About half the case hardening colors remain on the frame, brilliant in the loading gate area and on the sides of the hammer. The bbl has a blue/brown patina with hints of bright blue in protected places. The cylinder also has hints of blue and has a sharp cylinder scene. Grips retain most of the varnish.
