MAHOGANY CALENDAR CLOCK.

The clock is labeled “Seth Thomas Clock Company / Thomaston, Conn.” and was set at the factory at 1:00 a.m. on June 1, 1879. Clock has Roman numerals in the time keeping dial and Arabic numbers in the calendar. Painted time dial patented “Dec. 28, 1875. Calendar dial is marked “Feb. 15, 1876”. The lower dial has apertures for day of the week and month, and a single hand for date indication. Case with highly figured mahogany and mahogany veneers, with a tombstone top contour, and a single door with round glasses for the dials. Base plinth with angled transition molding and stepped base. Pendulum, bob weight, winding and door key are present. SIZE: 33″ h x 17″ w x 5″ d. CONDITION: Very good intact condition with original finish. 49191-56 (1,500-2,500) – Lot 3197
