TWO CASED SETS OF OLD OPTOMETRIST LENSES.1) This antique optometrist case dates to the late 19th to early 20th Century and includes approx. 200 lenses. Believed to be complete as all of the slots have a lens in place. Fitted with ivory-like celluloid, I.D. labels also marked “Manufactured by American Optical Co., Southbridge, Mass”. 2) Dark fumed oak wood case probably dates to the late 19th to early 20th Century. The glass framed door lifts to reveal a compartmental tray housing over 200 various test lenses. The two drawers below include a few miscellaneous optical tools, at least one of which is marked “American Optical Co.”. This is the first one we have ever had in a special oak display case, most generally these are found in suitcase type carrying cases. SIZE: 1) 21-1/4″ w x 12-1/4″ d. 2) 18″ h x 14-1/2″ deep at base x 4-3/4″ deep at top x 23-1/2″ w. CONDITION: 1) Generally good, as found.
