QUM BAG FACES, KIRMAN RUG, AND SEMI-ANTIQUE LAVAR KIRMAN PORTRAIT RUG, PERSIA.

Late 19th/ early 20th century. 1) The bag faces each with a rich mandala alternating with lantern designs on a blue/black ground within scrolled floral spandrels all within scrolling floral vinery borders. The bag faces have been joined at the center. 2) The small Kirman rug with overall floral design in pale indigo, mustard and browns on an ivory ground within a pale indigo main border filled with floral sprays within mustard guard borders. 3) The portrait rug with fine detailing and signature. A seated figure of royalty depicted on a throne beneath floral leafy trees amidst exotic birds and flowers all on a blue/black ground. The rug with scrolling polychrome floral main borders on a grey/green ground. NOTE: the small cartouche above the figure’s crown with calligraphy presumably identifying the sitter. SIZE: 1) 1′ 9″ x 4′ 4″. 2) 2′ x 4′ 2″. 3) 1′ 11″ x 2′ 7″. CONDITION: 1) Very good with minimal wear, nearly full pile and strong color. Loss to fringe at each end, joined as noted. 2) Generally good with even wear throughout, some slight pulling to threads, loss of fringe at ends, minor loss to selvage. 3) With overall wear, areas with foundation showing, rug retains good color and with no restoration.
