Meiji period (1868-1912), Japan. With mixed metal inlay of gold, silver, and various alloys. 7 individual fitted elements per vase. Bases decorated with fish and waves with auspicious emblems, clouds, various flowers, brocade patterns, dragon rings, and floral galleries. Central sections decorated with warriors in armor in garden scenes. Handles in the form of branches and snakes. Flaring mouth sections decorated with flowers, spider webs, and fallen leaves.
