DIMINUTIVE FEDERAL STYLE INLAID MAHOGANY SECRETARY BOOKCASE.

Second quarter 20th century. This fine benchmade example in two parts, the upper section with pediment cresting fitted with three classical urn form finials above a pair of astragal-glazed doors with gothic arches over a pair of tambour slides centering a prospect door, all opening to interiors fitted with valanced pigeon holes and small drawers. Stepped back on the lower case with hinged baise-lined writing surface resting on lopers centering three long drawers all with figural mahogany rectangular panels within cross-banding and all with bow fronts. Raised on square tapered legs. SIZE: 81″ h x 29″ w x 20″ d. PROVENANCE: Collection and shop contents of Linda and the late Vito Peri (owners of the Blue Dolphin Antique Shop, Northport, Maine).
