HOWARD & DAVIS WEIGHT DRIVEN REGULATOR CLOCK.Second quarter 19th century, Boston, Massachusetts. The rectangular case with full length panel door. The case interior with original sponge decoration, the exterior with grained decoration. The unusual 16″ convex wood dial with Roman numeral chapter ring. The eight day brass movement signed “Howard M Davis” on the front plate driven by a single weight. The movement with deadbeat escapement. Original Howard M. Davis paper labels affixed to interior panel of door. SIZE: 43″ h x 22-1/2″ w. CONDITION: Movement has been cleaned, bushed and oiled. Case with old original surface, undisturbed with good dark color and patina, now crusty and dry. Original cut steel cloverleaf hands, original pendulum rod and polished pendulum bob.
