Late 19th century, Russia. Each side of the box with colorfully enameled design of a mythical creature surrounded by vines and done on a ruby colored Plique-A-Jour ground. The interior with gilt wash and reveals makers mark possibly for Antip Kuzmichev alongside a kokoshnik mark with the number of 88. SIZE: 3-1/4″ h x 2-1/4″ w.
