SIOUX COMMERCIALLY TANNED SHIRT AND NORTHERN PLAINS BEADED HIDE SHIRT.

First half 20th century. 1) Plains shirt with geometric seed beading on shoulders, applied rectangular beaded trade cloth bibs and wrapped horsehair ornamentation, fringe on sleeves, sides and bottom, poncho cut, bead colors are white, bright yellow, greasy green, cobalt and pink. 2) Northern Plains brain tanned scout cut shirt, fringed sleeves, crinkle cut fringe on bottom, brass buttons with one missing, nine applied beaded roundels, bead colors are bright red, black, white, orange, yellow, and cranberry. SIZE: 1) 31″ l x 67″ w (across shoulders). 2) 36″ l (with fringe) x 59″ w (across shoulders).
