8 FOOT STEIFF “STUDIO” GIRAFFE.

These wonderful animals were purchased by stores for display purposes and were bolted to the floor by means of an L-shaped bracket protruding from their feet. This particular model, most likely from 1960s-70s had a retail price of several thousands of dollars. In any toy store, this was literally the first thing a customer would see due to its size, appeal, and coloring. In very fine original condition, but due to size, these pieces usually display weakness in the legs and neck due to children hanging off them or playing with them. This example is still quite sturdy. Certainly the pinnacle piece for a collector of Steiff of this particular vintage to build their collection around. SIZE: Approx. 8 ft.
