STEIFF EARLY POST WAR TEDDY BABY WITH US ZONE TAG.

This early 1950s version of Steiff’s Teddy Baby bear is made from blond mohair and is five-ways jointed. With a shorter mohair inset muzzle, felt lined open mouth, peach colored paw pads, and flat toddler feet. Nose and mouth embroidered in brown. With brown and black pupil eyes and a nonworking squeaker in belly. This model has been a collector’s favorite since his introduction in the late 1920s; postwar he was produced overall in maize, blonde, and brown in 9, 22, 28, 30, and 40cm from 1949 through 1957. SIZE: Standing: 10-1/2″ (27cm). Sitting: 8″ (20cm). CONDITION: Overall light playwear, small holes in feet on cardboard lined edges, otherwise good to very good. 1-14286 (400-600) – Lot 3121b
