PREBUTTON ERA STEIFF DACHSHUND SKITTLE.

From circa 1898-1903, this is a very early, simple brown felt Steiff begging dachshund on a wooden skittle plinth. With black shoe button eyes, a brown hand-embroidered nose and mouth, and a leather collar with bell. Produced before Steiff introduced its button in ear trademark. This pattern was made overall in 10 and 14cm from 1898 to 1908. SIZE: Standing: 5″ (13cm). CONDITION: Slightly dusty with tiny chip on leather on collar, otherwise very good to excellent. 1-14289 (750-1,500) – Lot 3120j
