SIX ASSORTED PRE-BUTTON ERA STEIFF SKITTLES.

From circa 1892-1903, this is a grouping of six skittles consisting of a grey felt elephant, a felt pig, a felt pointer, a grey poodle, a rabbit, and a bear king pin in a red felt jacket with felt crown. Kingpin is holding a stick and has a chain like a circus bear. All pins have original bows and bells and are on wooden plinths. The poodle is extraordinary and only the second item made from early curly wool plush this cataloger has ever seen. All produced before Steiff introduced its button in ear trademark. SIZE: Overall 5″ to 6-1/2″ (13cm to 16.5cm). CONDITION: Kingpin’s felt jacket has a few worn areas, all slightly dusty, otherwise very good to excellent. 1-14293 (5,000-7,500) – Lot 3120g
