1920s ERA UNUSUAL TEDDY BEAR, PROBABLY MANUFACTURED BY TEDDY TOY CO.

This distinctive 5-ways jointed teddy is made from light gold color mohair and is excelsior stuffed. Distinctive dark brown paw pads made from coated fabric, long curved arms and long narrow feet, non-working growler, no claws on hands or feet. Teddy’s face is detailed with dark shoebutton eyes and a dark hand-embroidered nose and mouth. Most likely manufactured by a boutique British manufacturer best known for its patent on a special kapok stuffing. SIZE: Overall 14″ t (34cm). Sitting 9-1/2″ t (24cm). PROVENANCE: Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection. CONDITION: Tiny mark on muzzle. Slight playwear, especially on lower half of body. Otherwise very good. 1-13869 (500-1,500) – Lot 3117
