UNUSUAL 1920s W.J. TERRY TEDDY BEAR.

Teddy is made from very long gold colored mohair and is 5-ways jointed. Body is hard stuffed with excelsior. It has a distinctive British look with its small feet and hands. Five claws on each hand and foot. His face is detailed with a prominent and expressive shaved muzzle. Black and brown back painted glass pupil eyes and a brown hand-embroidered nose and mouth. Produced by a London based company that was in business through late 1930s or so. SIZE: Overall 14″ t (36cm). Sitting 10″ t (25cm). PROVENANCE: Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection. CONDITION: Left eye has a slightly irregular shape but is not broken or chipped. Paw pads with slight abrasions. 1-13824 (300-500) – Lot 3116
