BEAUTIFUL 1920s ERA JOPI MUSICAL BEAR.Teddy is made from very long and very elegant cream colored mohair and is 5-ways jointed. Bear has typical Jopi features including very long narrow feet, tiny hand pads and short closed claw embroidery. Face is detailed with oversized brown and black pupil eyes and a very small black hand-embroidered mouth. Bear has working press and release music box in its belly. This bear is very representative of teddy bear designs of the 1920s, which had a very distinctive wide eyed, feminine, and endearing appearance. Working Jopi musical teddy bears of this era are quite infrequent on the secondary market. SIZE: Overall 12-1/2″ t (31cm). Sitting 8-1/2″ t (22cm). PROVENANCE: Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection. CONDITION: Very slight soiling of felt paw pads.
