GROUP OF FOUR BANJOS WITH CASES.

1) John Alvey Turner 5-string banjo, metal label attached to back inscribed “John Alvey Turner / MAKER / 33, Bishops Gate St / LONDON”. Constructed with walnut neck, ebony fret board with abalone inlays and silver metal body. Ivory or bone tuning keys and bridge. 2) Joseph Riley & Sons 5-string Zither-Banjo, circa 1897, England. Metal body incised throughout with floral sprays and vinery, original nameplate affixed to center of back reading “Joseph Riley & Sons Patentees & Sole Manufacturers 24 Constitution Hill, Birmingham”. With soft case. 3) Fairbanks-Vega Little Wonder tenor 4-string banjo, Boston, MA, The Vega Company. Maple body with ebony fret board and abalone inlays, with ebony and mahogany banding, impressed on coordinator rod “The Vega Company, Boston, Mass. “LITTLE WONDER” and 2 impressed 5-pointed stars Vega. SN 50701. Additionally inscribed with initials “H. C. W.” Case with several picks and winder. 4) Bacon Banjo Company Silver Bell number 1, 4-string silver banjo with original chrome plated label, impressed “STYLE No 1 / B&D SILVER BELL / THE BACON BANJO CO INC. GROTON CONN”. The ornate chrome plated body with birds-eye maple back and maple neck, fret board is ebony with inlaid abalone, head stock inlaid with mother of pearl “B&D Silver Bell”.
