3rd quarter, 19th century, Geneva, Switzerland. This nice example with 17″ cylinder playing 12 tunes with accompaniment of nine engraved and embossed bells. Menu of musical selections attached to hinged lid. Serial number 24956 1089 is written at bottom of menu. No additional markings are visible. Beneath hinged lid is additional lid with clear glass panel serving as dust cover. Comb is completely visible. Music box housed within burled walnut case. SIZE: 10-1/2″ h. 28-1/2″ l. 13″ d. CONDITION: Musical mechanism is functional. Two tines on comb are broken. Otherwise intact.
