NINETEEN PIECES OF RARE QUIMPER POTTERY.

Lot including: 1) 4-1/2″ high x 9″ wide early compote with Bretonne holding basket having demi-fantastik border. “HR” mark to base (late 19th/early 20th century). 2) 7″ fluted, covered teapot with Bretonne and Breton decoration. A green sponge decorated handle and floral decorated lid. Below the Breton is marked “HR Quimper”. The piece having demi-fantastik on cover and body of teapot. 3-10) 4″ long x 2-1/4″ high knife rests (4 male, 4 female, all in recumbent pose) marked “HB Quimper” on inside of each bottom (circa 1904-1968). 11) 2-1/2″ high x 4″ deep matching tea bag holder for the above knife rests. The woman is seated with arms outstretched, marked underneath “HB Quimper” (circa 1904-1968). 12 & 13) Pair 14-1/2″ diameter Melonniers, decorated with a decor-riche border encircling a charming couple in vivid colors and the other with two Breton musicians, each with a crest of Brittany at the top, the handles with scallop shells having a sponged green edge. Reference: page 66 of O’Neill’s book of Quimper pottery. Both marked “Henriot Quimper” (circa 1925-1935). 14 & 15) Pair of 10″ diameter scalloped edge plates with bold designs and unusual light blue floral border, one having two Bretonnes; one standing and one kneeling. The other, a Breton smoking a pipe standing beside a Bretonne in costumes. Both marked on top and base “HR Quimper” (circa early 20th century). 16) 9-1/2″ wedding plate with Breton and Bretonne encircled by a border pattern of alternating panels with sprays of flowers and crests of Brittany. The front and base marked “HR Quimper” (circa 1910). Reference: pg 92 of O’Neill’s book on Quimper potter for similar bordered plate. 17) 9-1/2″ costume plate, having a border of alternating floral and coat-of-arms. Marked on base “Henriot Quimper 144” (circa 1925-1935). Having a “Philippe Jamault” sticker to bottom. 18 & 19) Pair of 10-1/2″ scalloped edge plates with decor-riche borders, having a coat-of-arms. One is a wedding plate with Breton and Bretonne; the other a Bretonne with walking stick. Marked on base “Henriot Quimper” (circa 1920’s-1940’s). Reference: pg 66 of O’Neill’s book on Quimper pottery. SIZE: Sizes as noted above.
