TINY STEIFF VELVET BEGGING RABBIT WITH BUTTON.

This very early styled rabbit is begging, unjointed, and made from white velvet that has been airbrushed with a few brown spots. He has a plump body and petite arms and legs. His face is detailed with black button eyes, a hand-embroidered nose and mouth that is highlighted with a touch of pink paint. He retains his clear monofilament whiskers and original bow and bell. This great and classic design was produced in velvet in 10, 14, 22, and 28cm from 1899 through 1927. Rabbit retains his long trailing “F” button as his Steiff ID. SIZE: Overall 5″ t (12cm). PROVENANCE: Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection. CONDITION: A touch of overall play wear. Slight rust on button and surrounding area. Otherwise very good. 1-13771 (500-1,000) – Lot 3098
