LOT OF THREE QUIMPER POTTERY PIECES AND SIX DECORATED WOOD PIECES BY PAUL FOUILLEN.

1) 13-1/4″ x 17-1/2″ shaped platter with a “VB” Normandie with a “+..” mark to base (circa 1930). The platter is decorated with Bretonne and two suitors each with a poem written below. 2 & 3) A pair of 7″ diameter plates marked “HB Quimper XX.X” to base (circa 1925). The plates have a blue scalloped edge, strawberry border; one having a Breton, the other having a Bretonne. 4) 13-1/2″ x 18″ handpainted wood tray. The tray decorated with a colorful market scene with six figures in a village, having two handles and glass top (circa 1930’s) and having a carved “Quimper Deposee FP” mark to bottom. 5 & 6) A pair of 13-1/4″ diameter round wall plaques, one showing a Breton eating and looking out the window, the other a Bretonne churning butter (circa 1930). Both signed on front “P. Fouillen”. Also, having the factory mark on bottom “Quimper Depossee PF”. 7) 5-1/2″ x 4″ jewelry box decorated with Breton and Bretonne lighting pipes (circa 1930), factory mark to bottom “Quimper Deposee PF”. 8) 5″ diameter round, covered jewelry box with Bretonne in profile, signed on top “P. Fouillen” and having factory mark on bottom “Quimper Depossee PF”. 9) 8″ square wooden hinged box. Top decorated with a Breton serving bread (circa 1930), signed on top “P. Fouillen”, factory mark to bottom “Quimper Depossee PF”. SIZE: Sizes as noted above. PROVENANCE: From a private New Jersey collection; 2) Acquired from Joan Datesman; 3) Acquired from Joan Datesman. CONDITION: 1) Fine craquelure, bottom rim chip, otherwise very good to excellent. 2 & 3) Professional restoration to edges of rim, otherwise very good. 4) Some grain lines visible, generally very good. 5 & 6) Very good, small hairline. 7) Very good. 8) Very good. 9) Very good. 50592-6 (2,500-4,000) – Lot 3097
