STEIFF MECHANICAL SOMERSAULT BEAR WITH BUTTON.

Teddy is head and leg jointed with a windup arm feature that enabled the bear to tumble when rotated. This feature required the arms to be placed on a slightly different place on the bear’s torso than traditional teddy bears. Teddy is made from blond mohair with felt paw pads. His face is detailed with black shoebutton eyes and a black hand-embroidered nose and mouth. Bear retains his trailing “F” button and traces of his white ear tag. This model was produced in three colors in 18 & 23cm from 1909 through 1916 and then for a few years again in the 1930s. SIZE: Overall 12″ t (30cm). Sitting 9-1/2″ t (24cm).
