SPANDAU MODEL 54 1862 DREYSE NEEDLE-FIRE RIFLE.SN 456. Cal 15.4mm needle-fire. 30-1/2″ bbl round with octagon shank. Graduated leaf rear sight. Bright finished single shot bolt action. Left side of action has eagle motif over “SPANDAU/Mod:54” marking. Left flat of bbl shank has crown over “FW” marking. Right side of bbl and receiver have a series of proof marks including crown markings over letter S,P,L,N. Bbl cocking piece, trigger guard, buttplate and screws have matching SNs. Full length cheek piece walnut stock with brass nosecap and two brass bands. Fitted with retractable triangular bayonet. Stock is fitted with sling swivels and brass trigger guard. Tow line of stock has two proof marks between trigger guard and swivel with larger crown over “S” mark behind swivel with another small proof mark near tow. CONDITION: Bbl retains 70% fading brown finish. Action is polished bright. Stock shows numerous dents and handling marks. Good bore. 51087-12 DS (2,500-5,000) – Lot 3086
