Circa 1898, Boston, Massachusetts. The square 24″ marble dial with painted inscription: “Gift of Gilbert Alden Tolman 1898” above the hands aperture. Additionally painted in gold “E. Howard & Co. “. The dial with applied brass Arabic numerals and seconds markers in the chapter ring, all with painted surface. The eight day brass movement marked “E. Howard & Co”, driven by a single weight. SIZE: 24″ square. CONDITION: Dial with original undisturbed surface. Nicely patinated. Brass movement original and has been cleaned, bushed, and oiled.
