SN 6199e. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl marked “P.38”, “SVW/45” and SN on left side of slide. “WAA 135” inspected on right side of slide. Matching numbers on frame, slide, and bbl. German issue, third type. Dark Bakelite grips. This gun is explained on p. 35, pictured on p.38 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. II by Warren Buxton. “P.38v” marked magazine. Accompanied by black leather pebble grained flap holster, marked on back “CXE/45” and “P38”. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Frame and slide appear to have been lightly cleaned with no finish remaining. Bbl retains most of orig blue. Markings are crisp and clear. Excellent bore with sharp rifling.
