EARLY AND ORIGINAL MECHANICAL BING BEAR WITH BUTTON AND KEY.

Circa 1912, 5-ways jointed mechanical Bing bear made from gold colored mohair. Teddy has felt paw pads and black hand-embroidered claws. Teddy’s face which closely resembles Steiff bears of the time is detailed with black shoebutton eyes and embroidered with black nose and mouth. Teddy comes with his windup key on an orange string. When the key is inserted into the opening under his right arm and wound up, the head moves to the left and right. Teddy retains his silver Bing button under his left arm. These bears seldom come to auction in working condition. A wonderful opportunity for collectors. SIZE: Overall 12″ t (30cm). Sitting 9″ t (22cm). PROVENANCE: Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection.
