SN 012843. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl. Marked with Walther in a banner, “P.38”, SN on left side of slide. Eagle 359 inspected. East German sunburst proof mark on left side of frame and trigger guard web. East German commercial crown N proof mark under bbl. Matching SN’s on bbl, frame, slide, and magazine. Bbl may have been East German numbered to match. Black plastic grips. This gun is better explained on pgs. 14-17, pictured on p. 14 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. III by Warren Buxton. Unmarked magazine aside from SN on floorplate. Accompanied by unmarked brown leather clam shell holster. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Very good, as East German arsenal refurbished. Markings are clear. Retaining a fair to good amount of finish. Grips have light handling marks. Excellent bore. Excellent working order.
