LOVELY LARGER EARLY WHITE STEIFF CENTER SEAMED BEAR WITH BUTTON.

This circa 1907 teddy is made from white mohair, which has mellowed with time. He is 5-ways jointed and exhibits the traditional Steiff turn of last century proportions including long arms, long narrow feet, and a pronounced back hump. His face is detailed with black shoebutton eyes and a brown hand-embroidered nose and mouth. Only 1 out of 7 early Steiff bears have a center seam face, making them extremely desirable for collectors. He retains his long trailing “F” button as his Steiff ID. A charming and distinctive addition to any Steiff collection. SIZE: Overall 24″ t (60cm). Sitting 15″ t (39cm). PROVENANCE: Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection. CONDITION: Foot paw pads possibly replaced, hand pads with minor restorations and a few tiny holes. Minimal mohair loss, especially around facial area and behind left ear. Otherwise good to very good. 1-13852 (8,000-10,000) – Lot 3074
