LARGE CLOISONNE COVERED ROUND BOX.Late 19th to early 20th century, China. Decoration in relief of a central medallion with the character “Spring” (ch. Chun) supporting a figure of the god of longevity Shao in a bowl of jewels and gold and silver ingots. Flanking the medallion are two dragons and bats on a cloud ground. Borders of thunder meanders and bats. Lid and body decorated in relief with dragons, bats, and resonance stones with the eight precious emblems. Ground of cash coins on a turquoise background. Thunder meander borders. Interior with prunus on a cracked ice ground. Ch’ien Lung mark on the base. SIZE: 8-1/2″ h x 16″ dia.
