*HIGHLY SOUGHT SPRINGFIELD M1C MODEL OF 1945 GARAND SNIPER RIFLE WITH M82 SCOPE.

SN 3747716. Cal. 30-06. Marked on top of receiver to rear of sight “SAA-52” with bbl marked “S-A-9-51”. Griffin & Howe Scope mount numbered “3349819”. Scope is marked “TELESCOPE BASE M82 SERIAL NO. 39309”. Bolt is drawing number “D28287-19SAA-8”. “DRC” mark windage knob without locking bar. Stock appears to be an un-cartouched replacement with a double stamp “P” mark on pistol grip. Cross slot cylinder lock screw marked “NHC”. Wide sight platform. Includes clip on M2 flash hider with “H” within diamond logo and cheek pad marked “MRT 10 52” as well as an orig green web, leather sling. It is not unusual for the SN’s on scope mounts, receiver bases and receivers to be mixed and nearly 4800 M1C rifles were re-built between 1 July 1951 and June 1953. This rifle fits within this category. PROVENANCE: From High Condition Collection of Discerning U.S. Military Rifle Collector, Offered Without Reserve. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish near excellent with over 96% gray/green smooth finish with some loss of finish to high points, thinning on bbl and front of bolt, deep lustrous blue of scope and scope mount has some loss of finish to brown patina just across the scope markings. Optics are pristine and clear. Rubber eye cup is excellent. Stock is very dark brown in color with some dings and handling marks and remnants of what appears to be black fabric tape at the wrist of both sides. Leather cheek piece also in extremely fine condition, stiff and serviceable with a crack line running parallel to the bore line on the padded portion. Bore is shiny and bright with some slight frosting in the grooves. Web sling is near excellent, strong and serviceable.
