LARGE IMPRESSIVE EARLY STEIFF BEAR WITH BUTTON.Large, early blond 5-ways jointed Steiff bear with typical early Steiff proportions. Large back hump. Long arms with spoon shaped paws and wrists and felt lined pads. Face is detailed with shoebutton eyes and a black hand-embroidered nose and mouth. Four claws on each paw with small trailing “F” button. Utterly charming expression. SIZE: 28″ t (70cm). Sitting 19″ t (48cm). PROVENANCE: Ex-Volpp Collection; Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection. CONDITION: Minor mohair loss on face, muzzle and paws. Professionally restored right paw pad, left paw pad with small and minor holes. Underlying felt lining and few holes apparent on foot pads.
