PAIR OF PORCELAIN AND GILT METAL CANDELABRUM.

3rd quarter, 19th century, France or Holland. In oriental taste, each porcelain urn of bulbous form decorated with scenic aquatic and floral landscapes in underglaze blue with bittersweet overglaze decoration. delicate in nature, and gold gilt highlights. Mounted on a Neo-Classical style gilt metal base. Carved and molded with stylized bamboo and floral vinery guilloches and cast with broad leaves. Each mounted with a canister fit within porcelain urn and emitting cast metal floral candle arms with foliate candle cups and leaf tip form bobeches. Interior of each urn marked with conjoined “HL” and possible “E” in underglaze blue. SIZE: 26-1/2″ h. Approximate overall dia 15-1/2″. CONDITION: Porcelain in good condition overall, as are bases. Gilt metal candle arms good. One candle cup absent. Surface basically undisturbed. 50782-1 (1,500-2,000) – Lot 3063
