ARTS AND CRAFTS HAMMERED BRASS INKWELL ATTRIBUTED TO GUSTAVE STICKLEY (1858-1942).

Early 19th century. This unsigned example in the form of a hammered brass coffer with simulated hammered and forged hinges on the lid opening to a well fitted well with a single porcelain inkwell. The sides of the case with simulated riveted panels and riveted strapping at the corners being riveted to a conforming hammered base. NOTE: A similar signed double inkwell was sold at Julia’s Lamp & Glass auction December 1st & 2nd, 2006, lot #992. SIZE: 3″ h x 8-1/2″ l x 7″ d.
