Lot includes: 1) Depicting Mother of God with child. The removable silver overlay front marked with Russian hallmarks “84 (875 Silver) Moscow Assayer mark of “I. Avdeyev” (1852-1862), makers mark “AA”. Another hallmark is illegible. The painting on wood having a consolidated varnish layer with a great early patina. The metal work having an addition of a rayed halo, which also is marked the same. 2) Silver overlay icon of the Christ figure holding a book, signed in Cyrillic. Hallmarked “84” with face facing left (.875 silver), maker “cr” and is unknown. The oil on wood painting, having consolidate varnished layer, the silver frame polished. SIZE: 1) Overall: 9″ x 7″. 2 )Overall: 9″ x 7″. CONDITION: 1) One little break below neck of overlay, some rays at top with minor losses and bends, otherwise good. 2) Generally very good, otherwise as noted above. 50547-6 (1,000-1,500) – Lot 3056
