LARGE SIGNED MURANO ART GLASS AQUARIUM.

3rd quarter 20th century, Murano, Venice, Italy. This example is one of the largest produced by the Murano glass blowers and remains in it’s original carton and packaging with inventory label which reads “BISAZZA / IMMERSIONI / Acquario / grande 3338 / colore: multicol. / Murano Venezia Italy”. The aquarium rendered with six brilliantly colored fish centering a glass jellyfish with turquoise band within a garden of underwater reeds above a rainbow hued “reef”. The whole framed by columns of rising air bubbles. *NOTE* The reeds are created from glass rods called murrina skillfully embedded while molten within the glass “tank”. This example clearly marked on the base with etched circular Murano signature and affixed with an adhesive label with the model number “3338” which corresponds with the number on the shipping box.
