*EXCEPTIONAL COLT 1911 U.S. ARMY PISTOL SN 196905.

SN 196905. Cal. 45. Colt 1911 U.S. Army pistol SN 196905 has orig blue finish on slide and receiver. Later Colt “C in Square” marked bbl. Magazine is a Springfield made folded bottom type with lanyard loop. 1917 made pistol showing very little wear. Colt patent markings on slide,”RAMPANT COLT”, “MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY” all crisp and sharp. CONDITION: Bore is bright and shiny. Magazine catch lock slightly buggered, orig stock screws un-buggered. All proper markings, “SN 196905”, “United States Property”, “GHS” cartouche. All edges crisp and sharp. Slight thinning of front grip strap. Slight reddening of rear grip strap. Stocks sharp and crisp except a couple of small diamonds at the bottom. Only high edge wear. 94% finish. Left stock crushed in small area above lower stock screw. Overall, an exceptionally attractive 1911 with most of the orig finish and only a couple of changed parts. 50706-1 (4,000-6,000) C&R – Lot 3052
