REMARKABLE AND MOST UNUSUAL VERY EARLY 6-WAY JOINTED MOHAIR STEIFF CAT WITH BUTTON.

It’s as if time stood still with this amazing piece of turn-of-last-century Steiff craftsmanship. Here we have a magnificent 6-ways jointed cat, meaning that all limbs, the head, and the tail are fully posable. Cat is made from buff colored mohair which has been highlighted with brown airbrushing making her truly one terrific tabby. She has tiny tan claws stitched on her paws. Cat’s face is detailed with tiny green and black slit pupil eyes, a tiny pink hand-embroidered nose and mouth, a touch of red paint and clear monofilament whiskers. Cat has her tiny trailing “F” button and crisp fully legible white Steiff ear tag. SIZE: 6-1/2″ t (16cm). PROVENANCE: Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection. CONDITION: Slightly dusty.
