EARLY IMPORTANT 1920s BROWN TIPPED LARGE MOHAIR STEIFF BEAR WITH BUTTON.

Handsome and distinctive brown and blond tipped bear is 5-ways jointed and made out of brown backed mohair. With typical 1920s proportions including slightly chubbier appearance and oversized eyes and smaller back hump. With tan felt paw pads and shaved muzzle. Teddy retains his long trailing “F” Steiff button and traces of his white ear tag. Also has a working growler. A marvelous example in a seldom seen size and mohair combination. SIZE: Overall 28″ t (70cm). Sitting 18″ t (45cm). PROVENANCE: Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection. CONDITION: Feet paw pads with a few holes. Possible ankle reinforcement and nose restitching.
