Darling circa 1915 Steiff bear with a sweet and pensive looking face. Bear is 5-ways jointed and made from long wavy golden mohair. He has tan felt pads and four black claws on his paws. Bear has Steiff’s distinctive early look and proportions, including long arms, big feet, and a pronounced back hump. His face is detailed with pert black shoebutton eyes and a black hand-embroidered nose and mouth. With letter of provenance explaining his early years and later history. Bear retains his small trailing “F” button as his Steiff ID. SIZE: Overall 20″ t (50cm). Sitting 14″ t (35cm). PROVENANCE: Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection. CONDITION: Professional restoration on three felt pads. Muzzle with small and professional restoration. Nose and mouth possibly restitched. Otherwise good. 1-13868 (5,500-7,500) – Lot 3029
