PRECIOUS AND EARLY STEIFF CENTER SEAM BEAR WITH BUTTON AND PROVENANCE.

Darling circa 1915 Steiff bear with distinctive and prominent center-seamed face. Bear is 5-ways jointed and made from dark blond mohair. He has peach colored felt pads and four black claws on his paws; one is missing on his right foot. Bear has Steiff’s distinctive early look and proportions, including long arms, big feet, and a pronounced back hump. His wise face is detailed with black shoebutton eyes and a black hand embroidered nose and mouth. Only 1 out of 7 early Steiff bears have a center seam face, making them extremely desirable for collectors. With letter of provenance explaining his early years and later history. Bear retains his small trailing “F” button as his Steiff ID. SIZE: Overall 20″ t (50cm). Sitting 13″ t (33cm). PROVENANCE: Chuck & Cathy Steffes Collection. CONDITION: All pads replaced.
